Why Pilates?

Pilates is a unique exercise system that focuses on stretching and strengthening the entire body in order to improve balance, flexibility, muscle strength and posture.

Long popular among dancers, gymnasts and professional athletes, Pilates has now been discovered by a wider public – from those who want a stronger back or flatter stomach to those with specific injuries or medical problems that Pilates can help; or else, those who simply want to get fit or de-stress.

Pilates strengthens all the muscle groups, but particularly the deep “core” muscles which are so important to both posture and overall health and well-being.

It is now recognised by many physiotherapists, osteopaths, chiropractors and doctors as being one of the safest and most effective forms of exercise around.

Who is it for?

Pilates is for anyone interested in improving the way they look, feel and move. Our clients range in age, and vary from those whose work demands too much sitting to those who sit too little.

We work with medical professionals, busy mums, stressed out executives, people with acute injuries and chronic pain, and expectant mothers (we specialise in ante-natal classes).

Pilates brings benefits to those who have never exercised before as well as to those who already have an active lifestyle.
